Ticket fees include both the Evvnt service fee and a credit card processing fee. Below is a sample calculation for a standard ticket fee for an online ticket sale. You can find more information about fees for other special cases in the event creator help center.
Ticket Fee Example
- Ticket Price: $20.00
- Service Fee: (4% × $20.00) + $1.50 = $2.30
- Merchant Fee: Calculated as a percentage of the total ($20.00 + $2.30).
When fees are passed on to the buyer, they pay both the ticket price ($20) and the associated fees. At checkout, these appear as a single combined fee (service fee + processing fee). As a result, the event creator receives the full $20 for each ticket sale.
Absorbed Fees
When an event creator decides to absorb the fees, the buyer only pays the $20 ticket price. The system then calculates and deducts the service fee and the merchant fee (based on a $20 transaction) from that $20 before paying out the remainder to the event host.
Processing Fee Update - March 2025
Our service fees for selling tickets is not changing. The fee that is applied for the cost of processing credit card payments, the merchant processing fee, is changing to account for increases in those costs. This increase will effect all transactions processed through the Evvnt ticketing platform starting on March 17, 2025. The new merchant processing rate will be 2.89%.
To understand the difference caused by this change: for a $10 ticket purchased via our system before the fee change, the $10 ticket costs $12.20 when adding the total of all system fees. After the update to our merchant processing fee, the same $10 ticket will cost $12.24.
