When your ticket portal is created in our system, you will be provided with a default URL in the format https://[portal-name].evvnt.events. If you would like your ticketing site to be located on a domain that you own, then you will need to request DNS records from our team.
Requesting DNS Records
When you request DNS records for your ticketing site, please let us know what service you use to manage your DNS and provide us with the contact name and email for the person who will be updating the records. We will then email you and your DNS manager with the proper CNAME and TXT records to be added to your DNS.
CNAME on the domain Root?
Our expected configuration requires a CNAME record on the root domain. Some DNS management systems (GoDaddy, for example) do not allow a CNAME record at the root of the domain. If you are prohibited from adding a CNAME on the domain root, then let us know and we will create your records to use the www subdomain.
In case you need to run through the www subdomain, you will want to redirect or forward your root domain to that www subdomain. This will ensure that any users who manually type in the URL without that www subdomain will be able to load your site.
IMPORTANT: If we need to route your portal through a www. subdomain, be sure to ALWAYS include the www. subdomain when posting links to your portal. Any link you share on your sites, emails, or social posts should be a link to your site using the "www." before the URL. There are free services that can be used to setup a redirect on the apex like apexwise.io.

Instructions for GoDaddy
First, you will need to access your DNS records in GoDaddy.
- Log in to godaddy.com and select Manage next to Products.
- Click DNS in the left menu.
- If you have more than one domain, use the search field to find the one you want to configure.
Clear Any Conflicting Records (if needed)
Before adding the new records, remove anything that would conflict on the same subdomain:
- If any A records are present for that subdomain, delete them. This will disconnect wherever the domain currently points.
- If a CNAME already exists with the same name as your ticketing subdomain (for example,
www), then you will need to delete that specific record.
Note: Removing existing records will cause downtime for anything those records currently route. Make sure you're ready to switch over before deleting them.
Add the TXT Record
- Click Add New Record.
- Select TXT as the record type.
- In the Name field, enter the TXT record name provided by Evvnt. This typically begins with
_acme-challenge. - In the Value field, paste the long verification string provided by Evvnt.
- Click Save.
Tip: Verify the TXT record has propagated using a DNS lookup tool before moving on. Follow the verification instructions provided by Evvnt to confirm the record is visible.
Add the CNAME Record
- Click Add New Record again.
- Select CNAME as the record type.
- In the Name field, enter the subdomain you want to use (for example,
www). - In the Value field, enter
portal.evvnt.com. - Click Save.
What Happens Next
DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to fully propagate. If it has been more than 24 hours and the site still does not load on your subdomain, please reach out to support. Once propagation completes, your custom domain will resolve to your Evvnt ticketing site, and an SSL certificate will be issued automatically using the TXT verification record.
Please call us at 855-708-1078 opt. 3 if you have questions or issues getting your domain to load your Evvnt ticketing site.
