Some events may come into your calendar from Backfill data sources, like Bandisintown or TicketMaster. These events are not native and so they cannot be edited in our system until they are claimed by a user in our system.
We have added a "Claim and Edit" option for backfill events so editors can "Claim" these events to make them native to your calendar. Simply click "Manage" on an event you need to edit and you will see either "Edit" (if it is already editable) or "Claim and Edit" (if it is a backfill item). From there, you can edit any information in the event, add new info, change the image, etc, and that new info in the event will be posted to your calendar as an event that you own.
Note that any event creator can claim their events from your calendar. This is beneficial to the event host as they can then update the information and also have access to our paid syndication and paid email features when they own the event. If an editor claims an event, the event creator will miss out on those options.
Step #1: Click on "Manage" in the events list and then you can select "Claim and Edit"
Step #2: You will see an event "Preview" page. To make any changes to the event information, you can click "Edit". To just claim the event, you can select "Continue".
Step #3: Once you have finished your edits, you can click Continue to return to the Preview page. From the Preview page, you can select Continue and that will post the event as a native event with any changes you made saved. It may take a few moments to update the event in the system. Refreshing the events list will show that the event is now a native "Editable" event on your calendar.
