Last year, a new local events section was launched on each of our sites across the Newsquest network - aimed to provide our readers with a one-stop shop to check and find out what events are happening in and around their area. From car boot sales to Tom Jones concerts, there’s something for everyone.
Across the company, we’re now focusing on actively promoting these pages on our sites to our readers so we can establish each of our sites as number one place to find local events in our respective areas. This in turn will not only increase awareness of the local events page, but will also drive up the number of users who wish to submit an event using the button located on each page. This is an additional revenue stream to the company, so this drive on social from all of you and each of your pages will be a huge help in achieving this growth.
Each Friday, can you all post the attached picture (the one labelled Evvnt Facebook Post audience) along with the text below on each of your respective Facebook and Twitter pages please? Please swap the URL of your site for that of your own and include hashtags for the locations on your patch (i.e. #York, #Bournemouth).
Looking for something to do this weekend? Visit our local events page to find out what’s going on…

For any titles who produce a ‘What’s on round-up’ story on our websites, please also include the Evvnt article banner graphic (also attached) at the bottom of each article so we can repeatedly remind our readers about this page, and hyperlink it to the local events page on your site.
