If a event creator posts an event to your calendar and then upgrades that to a premium event in our system, it will become featured on your site. If you would like to feature an event already on your calendar that is not yet featured, an admin or editor user can do so in the Editor CMS. Although this gives the event a status usually reserved for paid events, if an admin or editor user makes the event featured it will not incur any cost to the event creator.
How to mark an event as Featured
An editor can make an event featured so it will appear in the carousel on the calendar page. Featured events will also be shown in the content widgets across your site. This can be done as follows:
- Find the event in the Editor CMS and click "Manage"
- Select Feature and then select the green button to verify this
- Click done
- The event should now appear in the events list with a "$ Featured" indicator.
Note that if the event is already marked with one of the other options (Editor's Pick, Editor's Voice, Prefer for print) then it will not be able to be featured. You would first need to remove the other existing option and then mark it as featured.
