This article has frequently asked questions regarding the Evvnt calendar capabilities and what is currently on the development roadmap.
Q. Does Evvnt have a recurring events feature?
A. We currently have a cloning tool that allows the event promoter to easily duplicate events. We understand this feature is important and we are currently working on a product spec for it.
Q. Is there a directory product for venues?
A. We haven’t done that integration yet - but with content widgets it can be done. This is a feature we are considering including to our integration road map with TownNews.
Q. If we would like to use this platform on our local community app would that be with a RSS feed?
A. Yes - we provide a self service process where you can intake the data into your app through an API Key or RSS Feed Code. For more information click here.
Q. Can markets customize sections, times, etc?
A. Yes - you can customize most settings. More information here.
Q. How much can the look be customized to fit our site?
A. It can be fully customised using CSS.
Q. Can a list of venues be presented on site? (We have current business directory customized to feature event venues).
A. On the roadmap
Q. Inlining Blox calendar assets is very important to us. So our biggest question is: How is asset inlining going to work with Evvnt within BLOX? If it's going to present as inline HTML, especially Javascript, then that will not work for us as some of our mobile apps can't handle those types of assets.
A. It requires development
Q. Both nonprofits and venues benefit from the current functioning as it allows for events to have a hosting organization and a venue. Therefore the business directory entry for both have the event. And, we have customized the business directory function substantially to highlight those with events. Will there be a way for users to attach their events to their TN business directory listing? Is there a place in Evvnt for a hosting organizations page or just the venues?
A. Spec this alignment of Content Widgets to Directory (on roadmap).
Q. We have an app geared to area events & venues with a separate CMS. We were to provide it an RSS feed from our sites calendar. Is there a way for them to work with Evvnt to get a feed/syndicated events?
A. Yes - use our Developer environment - here.
Q. We typically have individual widgets for special events - Ie: Independence Day and Halloween. The widget looks just like the regular calendar, but only shows those particular events. For Halloween, we have staff and users enter in the dates and times for parades and trick or treat nights. Then, we have a special Halloween page which just shows those events on the calendar.
A. We currently provide content widgets - so you can include them on their "sports or lifestyle" sections for instance. Here are 2 articles that describe this feature in more detail.
Q. Will event promoters still be able to enter events into Townnews, or will they need yet another sign in to Evvnt to submit calendar items.
A. Event promoters will enter their events using the Evvnt calendar or their Evvnt User Portal. We are working on setting up SSO - Single Sign On.
